Why the club first? Not every club races every class!
- Start local. Check clubs near you on Facebook or their website – but message them directly, as online info can sometimes be outdated.
- Visit the club on a race day if you can. A welcoming club will make you feel right at home, and you’ll get a sense of the vibe.
- Clubs run on set days (weekly, monthly, etc.), so choose one that fits your schedule.
Finding your club first will naturally narrow down the classes you can race, making the choice way simpler.
Classes to Avoid as a Beginner
Some classes, while exciting, can be tough when starting out:
- LMP12 and 4WD Touring Cars: These are blisteringly fast and super technical. They’re great, but not beginner-friendly.
- High-end Buggies: Fun but unforgiving – they’ll spend more time on the workbench than the track if you’re not ready!
These classes can be expensive and frustrating early on. Start smart, build confidence, and you’ll enjoy the journey way more.
